How to take care of a newbie pendulous rabbit?

Many partners especially like the cute appearance of the lop-eared rabbit, but only because of the rabbit’s good looks like it, then we just picked up the bunny how to take care of it? Is it possible to give the rabbit a bath after bringing it back?

Rabbits love cleanliness and lick their fur every day. It is not recommended to give them a bath, but if you have to, you should choose a time when the weather is good and the sun is shining, and you should avoid water entering their ears. In addition, most pendulous rabbits are of the hairier type, so they usually lose more hair than short-haired rabbits during the change of season. If you can’t comb their hair often, it is easy to make their hair knotted and over time, the skin of the rabbits will become red and swollen due to the hair.

The hair of the pendulous rabbit is dense enough to withstand the cold. However, they are afraid of heat because their sweat glands are not developed and they cannot regulate their body temperature by sweating. The appropriate temperature for adult rabbits is 15~25℃ and for young rabbits is 30~32℃. In addition to feeding during the day, the pendulous rabbit likes to rest or sleep in the cage, but at night, it is unusually active and feeds frequently. According to the test, pendulous rabbits eat about 75% of the total diet at night, therefore, rabbits must insist on feeding night grass. The rabbit likes to rest and sleep, but is instantly alarmed by any movement, so it is important to have a quiet environment for rabbits.

The rabbits are generally clean, so parents should always clean their rabbit hutches and keep the environment dry to avoid breeding bacteria, some rabbits will be smelly because of the poor environment.
