Summer is here, and all kinds of parasites are rampant. Of course, the parasites on cats are no exception. The infection of cats with parasites is light and harmful to their health, causing skin inflammation, diarrhea, vomiting, soft stools and other physical discomforts. In severe cases, it directly leads to death. Therefore, as a responsible shovel officer, not only must take good care of the cat’s diet, but also pay attention to the deworming work.
The most common parasites on cats are fleas, ticks, lice, mites, roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms, nematodes, heartworms, toxoplasma… According to different parasitic parts, these parasites are divided into internal parasites And ectoparasites, the corresponding anthelmintic drugs are also divided into in vivo, in vitro and in vitro and in vivo. Of course, different cat dewormers target different parasites, and no single dewormer can kill all parasites on cats. As a daily preventive deworming, shit shoveling officers only need to choose a broad-spectrum cat deworming medicine as much as possible.
Take the Brienne used by my cat as an example. It is a four-effect compound formula. The main ingredients include fipronil, (S)-methoprol, acetamido abamectin and praziquantel. The most comprehensive cat dewormer. It can repel common parasites such as fleas, ticks, roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms, etc. Suitable for cats over 7 weeks old, in vitro drops, eliminating the trouble of feeding medicine, drop directly on the skin of the shoulders and neck that cats can’t lick! Remember not to bathe the cat for the first three days after deworming, so as not to affect the efficacy of the medicine.
Of course, to deal with parasites on cats, you can also make your own repellent. The method is very simple. Take 250 grams of fresh citrus peel, cut into pieces, squeeze the juice, dilute the juice with 500 grams of boiling water and stir well, cool down After spraying on the cat, or wrapping the cat with a towel soaked in the sap, after an hour, the fleas on the cat are all killed. Of course, this method is only effective for external parasites such as fleas and lice, and has no effect on internal parasites!
So are we helpless against internal parasites? Not really! As the saying goes, disease comes from the mouth, as long as the shovel officer strictly controls the cat’s food and water sources to ensure that the cat does not accidentally eat parasite carriers such as mice and cockroaches, does not eat raw meat of unknown origin, and does not drink raw water, Your cat’s chances of contracting internal parasites are greatly reduced.
In addition, the cleanliness of the cat’s living area is also very important. Because the dirty, wet living environment is easy to breed bacteria and parasites. It is best for cat families to prepare a vacuum cleaner and clean it once a day. Items such as the cat’s rice bowl, cat litter, and small blankets need to be cleaned regularly and left to dry in the sun. Remember to clean the cat litter every day, change it once every two weeks, and spray it with a pet-specific disinfectant every three days, which can also inhibit the growth and reproduction of bacteria and parasite eggs in the environment.
The above are some methods and techniques for killing parasites on cats. They are all summed up and explored by myself in the process of raising cats. I hope they can help everyone! If you have other good cat deworming methods, you can leave a message and let me know!
