How do lantern fish breed? Paula lantern fish reproduction

Breeding of lanternfish: The breeding conditions of lanternfish are stricter than their rearing conditions. The rearing conditions are about weakly acidic soft water with a water temperature of 24~26°C and a pH value of 5.5~7.0, while the breeding conditions are relatively harsher, with a water temperature of 25~26°C and a pH value of 5.6~6.8. Since the lanternfish usually likes a dimly lit environment, it is more accustomed to the dark environment during the breeding period.

Without perfect environmental conditions, lanternfish will never spawn. Lampfish reproduction often requires a fish nest to lay eggs, at this time, you can use the brown silk fish nest made of the veins of the roots of the leaves of palm trees. Put the fish nest at the bottom of the breeding tank, adjust the water temperature, pH and other conditions required for the breeding of the lantern fish, and keep the surrounding light dark. Put a pair of broodstock selected in advance into the breeding tank, and fertilized eggs will be produced after about 24 hours. After about a day, the fertilized eggs hatch into juveniles. The juveniles will start swimming around in about 1 to 2 days, and then they will be fed with migratory water containing a large number of paramecia. After two or three weeks, you can resume the normal delivery of lantern fish feed.

Although the complete process is as described above, it is difficult for individual enthusiasts to ensure the stability of the water quality. A little carelessness may cause damage to the eggs or even the death of the broodstock. Therefore, it is not recommended for individual hobbyists to try the breeding of lanternfish.
