Cat dewormer must look at the effect of flea control, otherwise the consequences are serious

Fleas are one of the most common parasites on cats. They are parasitic on the hair and skin of cats and feed on the blood of cats on a daily basis, and are the root cause of many skin diseases. Also, cat fleas carry many bacteria and viruses, and their bites can cause zoonotic diseases, such as plague, typhus, and other virulent infectious diseases that are transmitted to humans by fleas. They can lay 25 eggs per day and hatch into larvae within 2 weeks. Adult fleas can survive for up to two years without food. Fleas are difficult to prevent and highly contagious, so prevention and treatment of fleas is a top priority in choosing a cat dewormer.

A. Symptoms of fleas on cats.

1、Cats have small bumps on their bodies, cat claw scratching marks, and careful owners will also find that cats often behave particularly irritable and in poor spirits, etc.

If the water turns red, it means the cat is infected with fleas.

How to cure fleas completely?

At present, the most powerful cat dewormer for flea removal is Foley’s, which I think many pooper scoopers know. Both of them are Boehringer’s cat dewormer, because the ingredients that work on ectoparasites are nonprednisolone and (S)-methoprene, so their flea control effect is the same, both can kill the whole life cycle of fleas, including adult fleas, flea eggs, larvae and flea pupae, so the flea control is fast and thorough.

The difference between the two is that Foley’s is an external dewormer for cats alone, while Boraine is an internal and external dewormer. It is a four-action formula with acetamido avermectin and praziquantel that work on internal parasites, so it can also kill three types of internal parasites: roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms.

I am forgetful, and it is easy to forget to do internal and external deworming separately, so I use Boraine for my cats, so you can choose one of the cat dewormers according to your preference.

3. How old can cats be dewormed? How often?

Since different brands of cat dewormers have different requirements, we will only talk about the specific use of Boraine. For other cat dewormers, you can follow the instructions or consult your veterinarian on how to use them.

There are 2 sizes of Boraine, small (for cats under 2.5 kg) and large (for cats from 2.5 to 7.5 kg), which are suitable for cats over 7 weeks of age and are recommended to be used once a month.

Apply drops of the medication to the skin of the cat’s shoulder and neck area, either in one or more places, and avoid drops in places where the cat can lick.

IV. How to prevent parasites in cats?

1. Pay attention to the environmental hygiene at home and keep the cat’s eating utensils, cat litter, toys and other items clean and tidy, and preferably disinfect them regularly.

2. Pay attention to dietary hygiene and do not feed raw meat, raw eggs, raw seafood, etc. to cats.

3. Use cat deworming medicine regularly and deworm your cat on time.

The above is my cat deworming experience summed up in my five years of cat raising career, especially for cat fleas I have made a special detailed description, I hope it will help all pooper scoopers, may all cats from parasites, always healthy, always happy.
