When we raise rabbits, many of us feed them raw water to drink, that is, we feed them water directly from the faucet. This kind of water is easy to feed to rabbits and can cause them to have diarrhea, which can lead to an attack of E. coli, and once the attack is serious, it can be fatal.
In fact, rabbits are a bit like cats, with a more independent personality, but sometimes they can be very clingy and afraid of being alone, so make sure to take time to play with them every day. If you don’t have a safe space to keep your rabbit, you can also keep it in a cage, which should be large, but you can’t keep it in the cage all the time. Prepare a feed bowl and water bottle for the cage, a clean wood of 5-10 cm in diameter for it to grind its teeth. You can choose a rabbit toilet, which is better to clean, and you can also use toilet bedding wood particles and diapers to reduce the smell of rabbit urine. Remember to clean the rabbit’s toilet at least once a day to keep it clean. It is not recommended to use wood shavings as they are easy to stick to the hair.
Rabbits under 6 months of age should eat alfalfa grass plus young rabbit food plus timothy grass. Alfalfa grass provides sufficient nutritional value, but eating too much will urinate calcium. The rabbit food is to ensure the basic sustenance of the rabbit, Timothy grass is to promote the digestive system, a daily handful of alfalfa, a rabbit food in the morning and evening, Timothy grass unlimited. Remember not to eat fruits and vegetables. If you grow up eating fruits and vegetables and can raise a large rabbit, it proves that the rabbit is very lucky, but the probability is really not particularly high. In addition, rabbits are very clean and will use the rabbit’s toilet in their cages because they are in a fixed place. To prevent urine odor, you can pad it with pet diapers or deodorizing wood pellets. It is recommended to clean it at least once a day to keep it clean and hygienic, which is also a prerequisite for a healthy rabbit.
You can also make a fixed toilet outside the cage by preparing an outer carton of pastry, cutting it into an L-shape and putting more layers of newspaper. When the rabbit finishes urinating, clean the soiled newspaper immediately, otherwise it will not settle in the same place.
