Why does the hair on the belly of a Siamese cat turn black?

Many of you who have never owned a Siamese cat do not know that when a Siamese cat is first born, it is a small white ball of meat, right? Then gradually, when the Siamese cat grows up, it slowly turns black, so why is this? Why is it white when it’s small and turns black when it grows up?

Because the darkening and blackening of the Siamese cat’s hair is due to the formation of melanin through the transformation of tyrosinase, which is sensitive to the external temperature. When the temperature is low, tyrosinase can function normally and catalyze the production of melanin from tyrosine, so you will find that the parts of the Siamese cat that turn black are those with less hair, like the exposed face, ears and limbs that are black in color. When a baby Siamese cat is born from its mother’s belly, it is all snowy white because of the heat in its mother’s belly. As they get older, the old white fur gradually falls off and is replaced with new growth, and the face, ears and paws generally get darker in places.

However, the belly part of Siamese cats is usually white. However, many owners find that after de-sexing or shaving their Siamese cats in summer, because the hair becomes shorter and the temperature of the shaved area also drops, the Siamese cat’s belly part grows out darker, which is a normal physiological phenomenon and the owner does not need to worry too much, the Siamese cat’s darkened hair will gradually change back to its original color as the temperature rises.

The Siamese cat’s coat color is an amazing and special existence, it can be black or white, and the whole feeling of digging coal is also loved by many parents, however, Siamese cats are also more delicate to feed oh, parents should also be rational feeding.
